




In polemical (argumentative) Islamic literature, particularly in South Asia, "Kuthubiyath" is often used as a label for a specific sect or a set of beliefs considered heretical by mainstream Sunni scholars.
The Qutb does not "govern" in a political sense. Rather, he is the passive yet essential channel of divine sustenance ( fayd ) to the universe. It is believed that if the Qutb were to cease existing—even for a moment—the cosmic order would collapse.
In a broader theological sense, Qutbiyat refers to the rank of a Qutb (the "Pole" or "Axis"), the highest level of sanctity in the Sufi spiritual hierarchy. The Ritual Performance: Kuthu Ratheeb
