Reading the transliteration helps you master the pronunciation and rhythm of the verse.

Allah! There is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). ayat ul kursi transliteration

“Before learning Arabic, the transliteration of Ayat-ul-Kursi was my bridge to the Qur’an. At first, I thought transliterations are all the same — just sound it out. But I tried three different versions, and the difference was striking. One had ‘ya’ instead of ‘ee’, another merged words like ‘illa bimā’ incorrectly. The one that finally worked for me used bold letters for emphatic sounds (e.g., ul, DH alimūn) and clearly separated words. It wasn’t just easier to read — it actually helped me pronounce ‘Allahu la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum’ correctly, not as a jumble. For a non-Arabic speaker, a good transliteration is not a ‘crutch’ — it’s a lifeline. Just make sure it comes with audio or tajweed color-coding.” No slumber can seize Him nor sleep
