Elementary S02e12 M4p: Abbott

Janine and Gregory volunteered to supervise. They didn’t make Tyreek and Erika write apologies. Instead, they sat them at opposite ends of a long table with a single piece of paper and a box of broken crayons.

Today, Tyreek had called Erika’s new backpack “babyish.” Erika had shoved him. Tyreek had pushed back. Then, the fists—small, furious, utterly ineffective—connected with shoulders and arms before Ms. Teagues, in her sensible flats, sprinted across the asphalt like a gazelle with a whistle.

Gregory crossed his arms. “They threw punches over a backpack featuring a cartoon hedgehog that eats too fast.” abbott elementary s02e12 m4p

“Because I listen during pickup line,” Barbara said softly. “You should try it sometime.”

Tyreek drew a stick figure man walking out a door, a single tear the size of his entire head. Janine and Gregory volunteered to supervise

The satire in "Robot Tutor" is razor-sharp. The central joke—that the school spent money on a robot to read to kids rather than, say, fixing the internet or buying books—lands perfectly. Ava Coleman (Janelle James) is in top form here, treating the robot like a new best friend and a photo op, completely oblivious to the fact that it is terrifying the students. The juxtaposition of the sleek, dystopian robot voice against the messy reality of a kindergarten classroom creates some of the season's funniest visual gags.

Post-credits scene: Mr. Johnson power-washes the mulch where the fight happened, muttering, “Kids today don’t even know how to throw a proper punch. In my day, we used dictionaries.” Today, Tyreek had called Erika’s new backpack “babyish

“No one won, Ms. Coleman,” Janine said, her voice pitched high with that particular Janine-brand optimism. “It’s a learning opportunity.”
