This study employed a qualitative approach, analyzing data from player forums, YouTube gameplay videos, and written reviews of the Slaves Mod. The data collection focused on platforms where players discussed their experiences with the mod, including Reddit, YouTube, and Sims 4 forums. A thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns and themes in player attitudes towards the mod, its usage, and its implications.
The Sims 4, a life simulation video game, has garnered a massive following worldwide for its open-ended gameplay and extensive customization options. One of the more controversial aspects of the game's modding community is the "Slaves Mod," which introduces a master-servant dynamic into the game. This paper provides an exploratory analysis of the Sims 4 Slaves Mod, examining the themes of power, agency, and player interaction within the context of this modification.
