SketchUp 2019 represents a specific era of Trimble’s ownership where the software had matured into a highly stable architectural tool but hadn't yet undergone the drastic (and controversial) changes seen in later versions.

Historically, the trial for SketchUp 2019 allowed users to download the full Pro version and use it without restrictions for 30 days. Once the trial expired, the software would prompt for a license key or a subscription sign-in. Unlike previous versions where the Pro trial would "downgrade" to a free version, the 2019 version required a paid plan to continue using the desktop client after the month was up.
