Mating Season [top]: Snakes

After successful mating, snakes reproduce in one of two ways:

Female snakes release a specific pheromone trail as they travel. Male snakes, equipped with a highly sensitive sense of smell (courtesy of their Jacobson’s organ and flicking tongues), pick up this scent trail and follow it. A male can detect a female’s scent trail from a significant distance, tracking her until he catches up. snakes mating season
