Los Bandoleros Short Film Jun 2026
July 28, 2009 (included with Fast & Furious Blu-ray/Special Edition DVD) Runtime: 20 minutes
Released as a prequel to Fast & Furious (the fourth installment), Los Bandoleros fills the narrative gap left by Dom’s escape to Mexico at the end of the first film. The short film accomplishes a feat that the sequels struggled with: it humanizes Dom outside of the context of American law enforcement. In the earlier films, Dom was a local legend and a criminal operating within a specific subculture. In Los Bandoleros , Diesel portrays him as an international figure of mythic proportions. We see him navigating the Dominican Republic not as a fugitive on the run, but as a revered figure of justice. This shift is crucial; it transforms Dom from a petty criminal into a rogue hero, a "bandolero" who fights for the oppressed. By depicting his intervention to save a village’s water supply, the film establishes the moral code that would later justify the team’s impossible missions—stealing from the rich or corrupt to protect their own. los bandoleros short film
