Krisp Noise Suppression Jun 2026
Here’s a straightforward guide to getting the most out of Krisp’s AI noise suppression —whether you’re on calls, recording, or streaming.
1. What Krisp Does (and Doesn’t Do)
Removes background noise: keyboard typing, dog barks, traffic, room echo, fan hum. Leaves your voice natural. Works at the system level – with any app (Zoom, Slack, OBS, Discord, Teams, etc.). Does NOT remove noise from others on the call (unless they also use Krisp).
2. Setup: Quick Installation
Download Krisp from krisp.ai Install and grant microphone permissions. Open Krisp → toggle the switch to “On.” Choose your microphone inside Krisp (e.g., Blue Yeti, headset mic). Krisp creates a virtual mic called “Krisp Microphone.”
3. Configuration in Your Apps For Zoom, Teams, Discord, Slack, OBS, etc. : | App setting | Choose this | |--------------|----------------| | Microphone | Krisp Microphone (virtual device) | | Speaker | Your normal headphones/speakers (Krisp also offers speaker noise suppression, optional) |
✅ Pro tip: In Zoom, turn off Zoom’s own “Suppress background noise” (set to Auto or Low) so Krisp does the job. krisp noise suppression
4. Using Krisp Effectively Before a call
Test with Krisp’s built-in “Test Mic” feature. Adjust input volume (Krisp works best when your voice is clear, not clipping).
During a call
Toggle suppression on/off from the Krisp floating bar or shortcut ( Cmd+Shift+K on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows). Watch the live waveform – blue = voice, red = noise being removed.
