Historically, CATIA V4 was supported on UNIX systems, and V5 had some legacy support for IBM’s AIX, but modern iterations (CATIA V5-6 and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE) are built for Windows. The architecture relies heavily on Windows-specific libraries and, crucially, on specific graphics card drivers that are optimized for DirectX and OpenGL on Windows.
