: Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) – February 26, 2010 – directed by Gautham Menon, starring Simbu and Trisha. Music by A. R. Rahman. A romantic musical tragedy and a massive hit. One of the most beloved Tamil films of the decade. I omitted it inadvertently – it belongs in February section, ahead of Kalavani . Songs like "Hosanna" and "Omana Penne" were chartbusters.
Before it became a massive franchise, the first installment of Singam hit screens in 2010. Directed by Hari, the film starred Suriya as the hot-blooded cop Durai Singam. The film’s breakneck pace and Suriya’s fiery performance made it one of the most profitable ventures of the year, spawning multiple sequels.
Looking back at the Tamil movies list of 2010, it is clear that it was a year of transition. It gave us the technological marvel of Enthiran while simultaneously grounding us with the emotional depth of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and the mass appeal of Singam . It was a year where stars were born, franchises were started, and Tamil cinema solidified its place on the global map. tamil movies list 2010
