Unlike the first Skyline movie, which focused on a group of friends hiding in a penthouse, Beyond Skyline is a gritty, high-octane action sequel. The story follows a tough detective named Mark Corley (played by Frank Grillo). He is on a subway train in Los Angeles when the alien invasion begins. Unlike others, he doesn't just hide; he fights back to save his son, who has been abducted by the aliens. The plot takes a wild turn when the characters crash-land in Laos, leading to a unique blend of sci-fi and martial arts action.
