Kanmani Hindi — O Kadhal

Adi and Tara look at this couple with a mix of awe and pity. They see the caretaking, the sacrifice, the sickness—and they recoil, using it as justification for their own "practical" arrangement. But slowly, subtly, the elderly couple’s unconditional commitment begins to mirror their own growing attachment. The story follows Aditya (Adi) and Tara, two young professionals who meet in Mumbai. Both are ambitious—Adi is a video game developer and Tara is an architect—and both share a cynical view of marriage. They decide to enter a live-in relationship, a premise that challenged traditional Indian cinematic tropes of immediate domesticity. Adi and Tara look at this couple with a mix of awe and pity

The film does not judge live-in relationships. It treats its characters as mature adults making their own choices, making it a very progressive film within the Indian cinematic landscape. Both are ambitious—Adi is a video game developer

Director supervised the Hindi dubbing himself, ensuring that the cultural nuances of Mumbai and North Indian urban youth were preserved. Unlike some clumsy dubs that simply translate word-for-word, OK Jaanu re-recorded dialogues to fit the lips and cadence of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. The humor—especially the banter between Adi and Tara about her "Lucknowi tehzeeb" and his "Delhi-boy brashness"—lands perfectly.
