Backflow occurs when water flows in the reverse direction to its intended path. Instead of traveling from the main supply into your property, water is drawn backward from your property into the main supply.
Backflow installation is not a DIY job. It requires a licensed plumber with specific accreditation in backflow prevention to ensure the device is sized and installed correctly.
The device is typically installed at the property boundary (the meter point) for containment purposes, or at specific hazard points within the property (isolation).
