Unlike (which is always active), a Lorebook activates entries dynamically. This saves tokens and keeps the AI focused only on relevant information.
❌ "Princess Elara is a very beautiful princess with long flowing golden hair and sparkling blue eyes and she is kind to everyone she meets and she likes to ride horses in the morning." (~30 tokens)
The community has developed best practices to counter this: "Show, don't tell" applies to AI prompting just as it does to writing. A good Lorebook entry isn't a biography; it is a set of directives. Instead of "Seraphina is sad," a power user writes "Seraphina speaks in short, clipped sentences; she avoids eye contact."
Use the feature (scroll icon in Lorebook panel). It shows you exactly what the AI sees, including which lorebook entries are active.
