Ravenhill argued that we have lost the concept of the "fear of the Lord." We treat God casually, as a divine butler or a celestial Santa Claus. We do not weep over our sins; we justify them. We confuse remorse with repentance. Remorse is feeling sorry for the consequences of sin; repentance is turning away from the sin itself. God does not revive a compromising Church. He revives a contrite one.
