The casting of Jimmy Smits was a stroke of genius. Known for his roles in NYPD Blue and The West Wing , Smits brought an inherent air of authority and likability to Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado. This made his transformation all the more terrifying. Prado wasn’t a monster hiding in the shadows; he was a man of the law who slowly unspooled after glimpsing the darkness within himself.
