Established in 1949 by Agha G.A. Gull, Evernew became a powerhouse. It was reportedly financed by the massive success of the Punjabi film Dulla Bhatti (1956), which ran for 50 weeks to achieve Golden Jubilee status.

Lollywood was famously nocturnal. Some of the most iconic romantic scenes were filmed at 3:00 AM. The studios would transform at night. The humidity of Lahore was unavoidable, so giant blocks of ice were placed behind fans to simulate a cool breeze for the actors shivering in sheer chiffon sarees on camera. lollywood studio stories
