This paper examines the persistence of software piracy within the context of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, focusing on the distribution and discourse surrounding "cracked" versions of Adobe Photoshop CC 2020 on the social media platform Reddit. By analyzing the technical mechanisms of the "AMTEmu" patch and the community dynamics within subreddits dedicated to software piracy, this study explores how users navigate the tension between Adobe’s strict licensing enforcement and the consumer demand for perpetual, offline functionality.
