The premise is simple but compelling. Users are presented with an IP address and a simple directive: "Own the system." To do so, they must emulate the mindset of a black-hat hacker. They scan ports, enumerate services, identify weaknesses, and exploit them to gain initial access. From there, the goal is "privilege escalation"—moving from a low-level user to the all-powerful root or administrator.
